Right now, we're building something entirely new: an AI-native product squad where senior engineers work side by side with AI coding agents to deliver product experiences faster, smarter, and with greater impact. Instead of the traditional one-engineer-per-platform model, we're experimenting with a radically lean team where two engineers, paired with a PM, a Designer, and AI coding agents, evolve the Discovery & Evaluation journey for sports betting. About the Role You'll be the mobile anchor of this squad. Your primary platform is Android, but you'll also drive AI coding agents to execute iOS changes within our existing Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) architecture, effectively covering both mobile platforms. Your role isn't to manually write every line of code. Instead, you'll plan features, architect solutions, orchestrate AI coding agents, review their output, and ensure everything ships with production-grade quality, performance, and reliability. You'll work on the Discovery & Evaluation journey, helping millions of customers discover sporting events, explore markets, browse live odds, evaluate bets, and interact with entirely new betting experiences. This is not a "use Copilot sometimes" role. You'll operate at the frontier of AI-assisted software development, continuously improving how human engineers and AI agents collaborate to build high-quality mobile products. What You'll Do Plan and architect native Android experiences across the sports betting Discovery & Evaluation journey, from browsing events and market exploration to bet assistance and personalization. Drive AI coding agents to implement Android features and iOS changes through Kotlin Multiplatform. You define the implementation strategy, provide the right context, review generated code, and ship confidently. Own mobile quality for the Big Bets track, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and polished user experiences while extending ownership to shared KMP code used on iOS. Consume real-time sports betting data through Server-Sent Events (SSE) and build highly responsive interfaces where odds update continuously without compromising performance. Collaborate closely with the Kotlin Multiplatform architecture owner to evolve the shared mobile architecture while delivering new customer experiences. Work independently within a 2-engineer squad alongside a Senior Full Stack Engineer, PM, and Designer, taking joint ownership of product outcomes rather than platform boundaries. Navigate cross-team dependencies across platform and backend teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences. Help shape the company's AI-native engineering playbook by documenting effective AI workflows, improving engineering practices, and influencing how future product squads operate. What We're Looking For 8+ years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin. Experience with, or strong interest in, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and shared mobile architectures. Strong understanding of Android architecture, including Clean Architecture, dependency injection, reactive programming, and building maintainable, testable applications. Experience building performance-sensitive mobile applications with continuously updating user interfaces, including streaming data, live feeds, SSE, or WebSockets. Comfort with ambiguity and autonomy. You thrive when given challenging product problems instead of detailed implementation specifications. Deep fluency with AI coding tools. You already use LLM-powered development agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar as a core part of your daily workflow. You know how to decompose work, write effective prompts, and critically review AI-generated code. Strong product mindset. You care about customer experience as much as technical implementation and can reason about how product decisions influence engagement and retention. Strong communication skills. In a lean engineering squad, you'll regularly discuss technical trade-offs with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers. Domain curiosity. Experience in sports betting isn't required, but you should be excited to learn complex concepts such as market hierarchies, live pricing, betting flows, and multi-jurisdiction product configurations. You are based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Nice to Have Experience with Swift or SwiftUI. Experience working with Kotlin Multiplatform in production. Experience building sports betting, iGaming, fintech, trading, or other real-time consumer applications. Experience building or integrating AI-powered features into mobile products.
