Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
ironquill.tech ("ironquill", "we", "us") helps you find remote jobs by reading your CV and scoring listings against your profile. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep data to a minimum and never sell it.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — when you sign in by email, your email address; if you connect Telegram, your Telegram user ID, first name, and username.
- Your CV / résumé — the PDF you upload, which we store, and the structured profile we extract from it (skills, job titles, seniority, preferred stack, locations, and terms to exclude). We keep your CV so we can match jobs for you and generate tailored CV rewrites for roles you select (see "How we use your information").
- Preferences & feedback — digest schedule, match-bar settings, thumbs-up/down feedback on matches, and any entries you add to the application tracker.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — scans you run, matches served, and basic interaction events.
- Technical data — IP address, browser/device type, and a first-party session cookie used to keep you signed in.
- Analytics — we use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (Vercel Analytics) that do not build cross-site advertising profiles.
Payment information
Paid plans are billed through Telegram Stars or our third-party payment provider. We receive your subscription status and a transaction reference — we never see or store your full card details.
2. How we use your information
- To read your CV, build your matching profile, and score jobs 0–10 with reasons.
- To store your CV and, when you request it, generate a tailored rewrite of it for a specific role you select (AI CV Rewrite).
- To deliver matches and daily/weekly digests in the web dashboard, and — if you connect it — via Telegram.
- To operate billing, provide support, and secure the service against abuse.
- To improve matching quality in aggregate. We do not use your CV to advertise to you.
3. AI processing
To extract your profile, score listings, and — when you request it — rewrite your CV for a selected role, the text of your CV and of job postings is sent to a third-party AI provider that performs the analysis on our behalf. We instruct providers not to use your content to train their models where that option is available. AI outputs (scores and rewrites) are estimates and may be imperfect — see our Terms.
4. Job listings we ingest
We continuously ingest publicly available job listings from third-party boards (for example Remotive, RemoteOK, We Work Remotely, Himalayas, Jobicy, Arbeitnow, Hacker News "Who is Hiring", and public Greenhouse company boards). Those listings are the property of their respective sources.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run ironquill, under contract and only as needed:
- AI provider — CV and job text for profile extraction, scoring, and CV rewrites.
- Email — our transactional email provider (Resend), to send sign-in and digest emails.
- Payments — our payment provider and/or Telegram Stars, to process subscriptions.
- Messaging — Telegram, only if you connect it, to deliver match alerts.
- Hosting & analytics — Vercel, for hosting and aggregate analytics.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
6. Data retention
We store your CV and profile while your account is active so we can keep matching for you and generate CV rewrites on request. Uploading a new CV replaces the previous one. You can ask us to delete your data at any time; on account deletion we remove your CV, extracted profile, generated rewrites, and account records, except where we must retain limited records for legal or accounting reasons.
7. Your rights & choices
- Access & export — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — send an updated CV to rebuild your profile, or ask us to fix inaccuracies.
- Deletion — delete your account or ask us to erase your data.
- Digests — change your schedule or unsubscribe at any time in settings.
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/EEA or UK under GDPR), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Security
The service is served over HTTPS with HSTS, authentication is session-based, and access to personal data is limited. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorised access.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for those transfers.
10. Children
ironquill is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
