The Role As an Associate Frontend Developer, you will work in a fully remote capacity to bridge the gap between financial analysis and user experience. You will not just be writing code: you will be making sense of data for our clients and the principals here at Blue Oak. The majority of your time will be spent building internal tools and client facing dashboards that help our team pressure test financial assumptions. This environment is structured yet flexible, requiring you to think about how data flows from a spreadsheet or database into a meaningful visual format. Because we are a small firm, you will see the immediate results of your work and how it aids in commercial transparency. What You Will Be Doing Developing and maintaining clean, functional user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks. Translating financial models and data tables into interactive charts and dashboards. Collaborating with senior consultants to understand the logic behind specific pricing and capital allocation models. Writing modular and reusable code that handles complex datasets without losing performance. Testing interfaces for usability and ensuring that data is presented accurately across different browsers. Assisting in the integration of frontend components with backend data sources or static data files. Documenting technical workflows to ensure the longevity of the tools we build for our partners. Iterating on designs based on feedback from the principals who use these tools in high pressure meetings. What You Bring A foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript. Familiarity with at least one frontend library like React, Vue, or similar frameworks through studies or projects. A curious mindset and a desire to understand the logic behind the numbers you are displaying. High attention to detail, particularly regarding the accuracy of data visualization and layout. The ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate progress clearly. A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent project work. Basic knowledge of how to consume APIs and handle JSON data structures. A disciplined approach to coding and a willingness to learn how financial data is structured.
