AWS Engineer

Amazon Web Services Engineer ***As required by our governmental client, this position requires U.S. Citizenship*** Cherokee Federal is seeking an AWS Engineer to design, deploy, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions for a federal client. This role focuses on AWS infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), CI/CD automation, cloud security, and DevOps in a regulated government environment. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of AWS experience, strong cloud engineering skills, and experience supporting federal or public sector cloud environments. Salesforce experience, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Public Sector Solutions, or MuleSoft, is a plus. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for AWS Engineer: $100,000-140,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Include: • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS in support of government mission requirements. • Work with government leads and Product Owners to understand technical requirements, clarify scope, and confirm release timing for new infrastructure and enhancement requests. • Architect and implement AWS solutions using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, and API Gateway. • Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK to ensure repeatable, auditable, and version-controlled deployments. • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to automate build, test, and deployment workflows. • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and related tooling to ensure system health, performance, and operational visibility. • Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and maintainable, and aligned with go
