Job Description The Backup Recovery Engineer will manage backup and recovery processes, ensure data integrity, and troubleshoot backup issues. They will implement and maintain backup procedures, assist in developing and testing disaster recovery and COOP plans. The engineer will perform daily management of backup systems, monitor backup job completions, and resolve backup failures. This role will conduct regular backup verifications and test restores to ensure data recoverability as well as manage tape rotations (if applicable) and off-site storage of backup media. The engineer will assist in capacity planning for backup infrastructure, implement data retention policies, and manage backup schedules to minimize impact on production systems. They will collaborate with system administrators and database administrators to ensure all critical data is properly backed up. This role will participate in disaster recovery exercises, document recovery procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of backup and recovery processes.
