As the Certified Coder , you will be responsible for performing ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS for completing coding and billing audit to resolve coding related prebill or post bill charges, edits, or denials from A to Z. You will be responsible for interpreting and applying correct coding guidelines, payer guidelines, filing an appropriate level appeal or submitting medical records to payer, submitting and tracking/trending data to improve documentation and reduce/prevent denials. You will review, audit, and analyze documentation following correct coding and payer billing guidelines to determine overall accuracy of encounter/claim. This is a fully remote, full-time role in TX, NC, SC, or FL (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday). Responsibilities What You’ll Do Closely work with peers or departments to facilitate ongoing coding and billing accuracy. Work directly with the providers providing coding education to support correct coding initiatives. Certify compliance with payer policies and correct coding policies and procedures. Responsible for performing appeals for professional services as deemed necessary. Must ensure timely, accurate, and thorough appeals for all accounts assigned and apply critical thinking skills to ascertain root cause of denials. Conduct medical records research and correspond with insurance companies as needed. Uses analytical skills to identify trends in payer denials and translates this information into Charge Review edits that will be used to prevent future denials Assists in development and implementation of training for other certified coders.
