Civil Engineer Team Leaders (CETL) are supervisors of multiple Civil Engineers and Civil Engineering Technicians overseeing the design of structures, foundations, overhead wires, aluminum bus, equipment design and site grading plans for electrical substations and transmission lines. The CETL is tasked with ensuring that their team’s designs, and applications, are completed to code and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative bodies. In addition, CETLs are responsible for the training, recruiting, hiring, scheduling, assigning and discipline of CEs and CETs under their supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee all engineering responsibilities and activities. • Delegates engineering responsibilities and activities within their team. • Leads the design and checking processes. • Manages the day-to-day activities of schedule and design. • Directly trains and directs CEs and CETs assigned to their team. • Maintains design standards and training guidelines. • Coordinates and problem solves issues between design teams and departments. • Answers technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, customers and their representatives.
