Job Description: The Clinical Informatics Specialist will partner with hospital leadership and clinical teams to analyze, design, and optimize EHR clinical workflows that improve operational performance and patient care delivery. This role involves working directly with senior-level clients to solve complex hospital operational problems, with a focus on laboratory and radiology workflows. This position serves as a bridge between clinical operations and technology, translating clinical needs into actionable IT solutions. This role also supports the Healthcare IT team with system optimization, training, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, medical directors, department heads, and clinical operations leaders at hospital client sites, leading discovery sessions and recommending technology-enabled solutions. Analyze current-state clinical workflows across the hospital with a focus on EHR-driven processes, identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and risks, and designing optimized future-state workflows. Work within major EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, Meditech, athenahealth) to evaluate, recommend, and support workflow configurations in collaboration with EHR analysts and technical teams. Serve as the subject matter expert for laboratory (LIS) and radiology (RIS/PACS) information systems and their integration with the EHR, advising on order entry, result reporting, imaging workflow, and diagnostic turnaround time improvement. Diagnose root causes of hospital operational issues—including throughput bottlenecks, reporting gaps, and communication breakdowns between departments—and design technology-informed solutions. Act as the liaison between clinical stakeholders, IT engineering, MSP service delivery teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
