This strategic role is embedded within the global A3 Data & Analytics team, driving advanced analytics capabilities, data-driven decision-making, and critical cloud infrastructure development across multiple worldwide business areas. SUMMARY We are seeking a proactive, highly skilled, and autonomous AI & Data - Data Engineer to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP Datasphere . In this role, you will take ownership of supporting major SAP data migration and integration initiatives within a global data analytics landscape built on Snowflake. You will balance hands-on pipeline engineering (designing, building, and optimizing transformation flows) with high-level technical advisory, guiding architects and functional teams on Datasphere capabilities, usage patterns, and licensing structures. ROLE FUNCTIONS Data Pipeline & Integration Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using SAP Datasphere to migrate data smoothly from SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA systems. Migration & Landscape Support: Enable controlled, secure, and reliable data availability during critical transition phases, supporting parallel SAP landscapes without disruption to downstream services. Data Modeling & Compliance: Develop and maintain optimized Datasphere models, views, and system connections fully aligned with global enterprise architectural and data governance standards. Technical Advisory & Strategy: Act as the core subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance on SAP Datasphere best practices, architectural design patterns, capabilities, and licensing implications. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with SAP functional teams, data platform architects, Snowflake engineers, and key business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into robust data solutions. Performance Optimization & Governance: Continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of data pipelines to ensure maximum stability and quality, while applying strict security and access control principles. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Core Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on expert knowledge of SAP Datasphere (or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud / DWC). Strong understanding of SAP data structures within SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA . Data Engineering Foundation: Proven experience in designing data pipelines, data ingestion architectures, and enterprise-grade data transformation workflows (experience with Snowflake environments is a strong plus). Seniority & Consulting Mindset: Strong background as a Senior Consultant, Lead Engineer, or Architect capable of advising multiple global stakeholders and driving architecture design decisions. Methodology & Practices: Solid experience working within Agile delivery teams and frameworks. Strong focus on data governance, security, and data quality standards.
