Our client is a leading marketplace platform connecting buyers, sellers, and renters across powersports, recreational vehicles, aircraft, marine, commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment. With a wide range of marketplaces under its portfolio, the company's brands are well-recognized and cater to over 13 million monthly unique visitors. With many decades in the business, they provide exclusive tools and insights to help dealers effectively manage and grow their businesses. This engagement delivers a business-critical automation project for one of the client’s internal operational teams. The Data Engineer will work as part of a small delivery team, building the data ingestion pipelines that form the foundation of a serverless AWS pipeline — replacing a significant monthly manual effort and delivering measurable annual operational savings. Must Have Requirements 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related software engineering role Python — expertise building production-level ETL pipelines and data ingestion systems Database design and SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL preferred) AI-Accelerated Development — proficiency using AI tools (we use Claude Code) to accelerate delivery while maintaining full accountability for code correctness Expected Requirements AWS — hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, and Step Functions Experience integrating with external APIs — Salesforce, Google Ad Manager, or similar enterprise platforms Experience with CI/CD pipelines Good to Have Experience with legacy data migration — extracting and transforming logic from tools such as Microsoft Access Responsibilities Design and build data ingestion and transformation components, ensuring data from external sources is reliably collected, processed, and made available for further use Ensure data quality, completeness, and traceability across all transformation stages Deliver production-quality code, write unit tests, and maintain coverage standards agreed by the team Follow agreed coding standards and best practices, addressing technical debt proactively Participate actively in code reviews and communicate progress and blockers openly with the team Collaborate actively as part of a self-organizing Agile team Take ownership of the quality of your workstreams and participate in output validation each iteration Document your work clearly to ensure components are maintainable by the client team What’s in it for you Work your way — anywhere, anytime.
