Listed as a remote role based in Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark. Spirii develops world-class charging products and digital solutions for electric vehicles. Our Digital Development department fosters a listen, learn, and lead culture — allowing us to continuously improve how we work. We're looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to build and evolve Spirii's data platform and pipeline infrastructure. Working closely with our Data Lead and domain teams, you'll design and maintain reliable ELT pipelines, ensure data arrives in Amazon Redshift correctly and on time, and support the analytics layer that powers insights across EV charging events, subscriptions, and financial transactions. This is a unique opportunity to shape Spirii's data infrastructure from an early stage — establishing standards for ingestion, orchestration, and data reliability as we scale. Your Responsibilities Pipeline & Ingestion Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines that bring data from product backends, third-party services, and operational systems into Amazon Redshift. Own ingestion reliability: monitoring, alerting, and incident response for pipeline failures. Evaluate and improve orchestration tooling and scheduling. Data Platform & Infrastructure Evolve Spirii's data platform architecture: storage, compute, access control, and cost optimisation in Redshift. Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code practices for data workflows (Terraform/CDK or similar). Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure and transformations. Data Quality & Governance Implement data quality checks, freshness monitoring, and anomaly detection across ingestion and transformation layers. Work with Analytics Engineers and domain teams to define and enforce data contracts and schema standards. Ensure GDPR-compliant data handling: PII identification, access control, and data retention policies. Collaboration & Stakeholders Partner with Engineering and Product teams to instrument events correctly at the source — schemas, identifiers, and change management. Collaborate with Data team to ensure the analytics layer is built on reliable, well-modelled foundations. Contribute to a strong data culture by creating and enhancing documentation, runbooks, data lineage, discoverability and incident response capabilities. About You You care deeply about data reliability and building pipelines that teams can depend on. You're hands-on: you build, test, and ship pipelines and infrastructure improvements yourself. You think of data pipelines as products — you care about uptime, observability, and the downstream consumers who depend on them. You're pragmatic: you know when to engineer robustly and when to keep things lean. You collaborate well across teams and communicate clearly about trade-offs and status. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role with a strong data focus. Strong SQL skills and solid experience building production data pipelines. Hands-on experience with a modern data warehouse (Redshift preferred; BigQuery/Snowflake/Databricks also relevant). Experience with orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or similar). Proficiency in Python for data work (pipeline scripts, transformations, tooling). Solid understanding of ELT/ETL concepts, including incremental loading, CDC, and idempotency. Familiar with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, or similar). Familiar with data governance concepts: access control, PII handling, GDPR-minded practices. Nice to Have Experience with data observability tooling. Experience with event/data contract patterns in product analytics (schemas, versioning, instrumentation). Experience with finance data and/or subscription/transaction domains. Experience with dbt (understanding of transformation layer and how it interfaces with pipelines). Machine learning infrastructure experience is a plus, but not required for this role. Benefits It is important for us to create a healthy, diverse, fun, and creative working environment, so besides all the basic benefits, we also focus a lot on social activities, flexible working hours and a good work-life balance. Flexible Work Environment: Enjoy a collaborative, inclusive, and open workplace designed to fit your needs and support work-life balance. Competitive Package: A competitive salary, an 11% company pension plan, and a comprehensive benefits package. Time to Recharge: Benefit from 32 paid vacation days (5 weeks + 5 extra) and paid parental leave to focus on what matters most. Career Growth: Access professional development opportunities and grow your career in a high-impact, high-growth industry. Stay Energized: Enjoy excellent coffee, tea, free snacks, and subsidized lunches at the office. Stay Active: Use our Spirii gym and shared company car to keep moving. Make an Impact: Be part of a team driving the future of sustainable energy while working on meaningful projects. Two innovation days per month for YOU to choose what you work on. The position is a permanent position in Copenhagen, Denmark. Danish language is not a requirement, but fluent English language skills are required.
