Frontend Engineer (GIS & Data Visualization)

About You You are a Mid to Senior Frontend Engineer who enjoys building intuitive, scalable, and data-driven web applications. You have strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and are comfortable translating complex operational and geospatial data into clear, interactive user experiences. You have experience building data visualizations, dashboards, and accessible frontend applications, and you understand the importance of usability, maintainability, and performance. You are comfortable working in structured delivery environments, collaborating through code reviews and ticket-based workflows, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to support your work. You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience. 4+ years of professional experience in Frontend Development or Frontend Engineering. Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React or Angular. Hands-on experience building interactive web mapping experiences using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, MapLibre, Leaflet, Google Maps, or similar technologies. Experience working with geospatial or location-based data in frontend applications. Experience building data visualizations, dashboards, and data-driven user interfaces. Hands-on experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements in frontend applications. Strong understanding of modern JavaScript, frontend development practices, and component-based architectures. Experience building scalable and maintainable user-facing applications. Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar tools.
