Frontend Engineer Intern
Listed as a remote role based in Paris, Île-de-France, France.
Pixel Systems is adding a Frontend Engineer Intern to our team to help build and maintain the internal tools used by a French fintech client. We are not building a consumer app with millions of users or a flashy marketing site. Instead, we are constructing the interfaces that the client's operations team uses to monitor financial transactions and manage data. You will spend your time building functional dashboards, creating data entry forms, and ensuring that the frontend correctly reflects the information coming from the backend services. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, fully remote software agency. We build the tools that businesses actually use to get their work done. Our projects often involve admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. We do not chase the latest trends in the tech world. Instead, we focus on providing stable, predictable results for our clients. We work with fixed quotes and provide weekly demos so our clients always know exactly where the project stands. When we finish a project, we hand over the code and detailed documentation so the client truly owns what we built. We use reliable technologies like React, Node, and Postgres because they are well-tested and easy to maintain over the long term. The Role In this role, you will be working on the interface for a large financial platform. Much of the work involves moving data from one place to another and making it readable for the people who need it. You will be building components in React that allow users to filter through transaction histories, update customer records, and handle complex data sets. Since this is a remote position, you will be collaborating with other developers through GitHub and communicating via written updates. You will participate in our weekly demos where we show our progress to the client. This is a great chance to see how a professional agency operates and how we manage expectations and delivery schedules for a fintech partner. What you bring We are looking for someone who has a solid understanding of the building blocks of the web. You should be comfortable with HTML and CSS, and you should know how to structure a page so that it is clear and accessible. You should have some experience with JavaScript and React, perhaps through university courses, a coding bootcamp, or your own personal projects. We value clarity in code over cleverness. Being organized is essential for a remote intern, as you will need to manage your own tasks and communicate effectively when you hit a roadblock. We want someone who is comfortable working on practical, functional software rather than artistic or highly visual projects. Helpful background It is helpful if you have a basic understanding of how APIs work and how to fetch data to display in a web application. Familiarity with Git and GitHub is a plus, as we use these tools daily to manage our codebase. If you have ever experimented with Node on the backend or played around with SQL databases like Postgres, that knowledge will help you understand the full context of the tools we are building. While we do not expect you to be an expert in any of these areas yet, a general curiosity about how the different parts of a software system connect will be very useful. Working at Pixel Systems Working here is straightforward. We are a senior team that prefers a quiet, focused environment over the high-stress atmosphere often found in startup culture. Our team is entirely remote, and we prioritize clear documentation and asynchronous communication. You will not find layers of middle management here. You will work directly with experienced developers who can provide feedback on your code and help you grow your technical skills. This is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the role and the current market. We focus on building software that solves real operational headaches, and we take pride in shipping work that is stable and easy for our clients to use. At Pixel Systems, we believe that working code is the best way to measure progress. We work hard to ensure that the code we write today does not become a burden for the people who have to maintain it tomorrow. As an intern, you will be treated as a member of the engineering team, contributing to real projects that have a direct impact on our client's business operations. We offer a professional, no-drama environment where the goal is always to build software that works reliably.
