Frontend Engineer Intern

Listed as a remote role based in Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain. Tech Pipeline works where data meets the daily reality of business operations. We help teams find and fix the points of friction that cause backlogs and stall growth. For this role, we are supporting a lead Spanish fintech firm as they expand their global operations, ensuring that their frontend tools and internal systems can handle the increased complexity of modern financial data. About the role As a Frontend Engineer Intern, you will focus on the interfaces that internal operations teams use every day. Many of these tools were built when the client was much smaller, and as they expand their global presence, these systems are starting to show signs of strain. Your job is to help us identify where the user interface is failing to reflect the underlying data accurately or where it makes the work harder than it needs to be. This is a technical role that requires looking beyond the surface of a page to understand how information moves from the database to the browser. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work with a distributed team focused on solving concrete problems rather than managing abstract frameworks. What you will be doing Observing how operators interact with internal dashboards to find specific points of friction in their workflow. Reading browser logs and console output to trace the origin of UI bugs and display errors. Updating frontend components to support new routing rules for cross border financial transactions. Identifying and resolving integration gaps where the frontend does not properly communicate with the backend API. Refining table views and search filters to help team members perform monthly bank reconciliations more efficiently. Modifying form validation logic to ensure the source of truth for client data remains clean from the start. Documenting internal tool changes so the client team can maintain the system once our engagement is complete. What we need from you Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript gained through coursework or personal projects. Basic familiarity with a frontend library such as React, Vue, or Angular. The ability to write clear and concise updates about technical issues and progress. A methodical approach to troubleshooting that involves trying to reproduce an error before trying to fix it. Curiosity about how data is structured and how it appears to the end user. The self discipline to manage your own tasks and schedule in a fully remote environment. Willingness to ask questions when a process or a piece of code does not make logical sense. Helpful background Previous experience or interest in fintech, banking, or financial data systems. Familiarity with Git for version control and basic collaborative coding workflows. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs to fetch and display data.
