Project BookMe AI is an AI receptionist that works inside a business's existing WhatsApp number, handling bookings, rescheduling and cancellations in conversation, without a human operator. It is built for small service businesses — barbershops, salons, auto service, clinics, restaurants — where a missed message is a lost customer, and it is currently moving from working product into the hands of the first paying businesses. The next phase is a research and development programme extending the agent onto new channels and into live voice, and building the scheduling engine underneath it Profile 3+ years building and shipping web products. 2–3 delivered projects. Work done as an employee or contractor counts, including internal systems built for a company rather than sold externally — what matters is that it went into production and was used, not that it was a public product. Higher education degree completed. Minimum 6 months working daily in an agentic IDE — Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent. Able to come once a week/ once every 2 weeks in the office. Responsibilities Scheduling engine. Design and build the core availability and booking logic, including multi-resource allocation and concurrency correctness. Data model and integrations. Evolve the schema and the integration layer as the platform takes on new channels and business types. Owner-facing product and platform reliability. Build the management surface the business owner works in, together with the scheduled jobs, payments and operational hardening behind it.
