Our engineers are vital to the innovation and digitalization of BMW Group's driving machines, production, sales and banking processes, and you could be part of our evolving teams. We are seeking a skilled and self-driven Node.js developer to join our team and take ownership of developing and maintaining our application. As a developer, you will have significant autonomy and responsibility in shaping the technical direction of the project. What awaits you Design and implement scalable applications using Node.js and related technologies Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and database schemas Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and security of applications Design and implement the frontend architecture of our web application Develop reusable components and front-end libraries for future use Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code Implement automated testing and continuous integration/deployment pipelines Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues in production Manage database design, updates, and data migrations Maintain system security and implement best practices for data protection Provide regular progress updates and documentation What should you bring along University Degree in Computer Science or a related field At least 3 years of professional experience with Node.js and React development Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and ES6+ features Extensive experience with Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks Proven experience with RESTful APIs design and implementation Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and its patterns Expertise in working with SQL and NoSQL databases (particularly MongoDB) Good understanding of React concepts (Hooks, Context, etc.) and experience with state management (Redux, MobX, or Zustand) Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks, modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, or similar) and React testing libraries (Jest, React Testing Library) Knowledge of RESTful APIs and GraphQL Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, modern CSS frameworks and with responsive and adaptive design Experience with version control systems (GitHub) Proficiency in writing automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) with Playwright/Selenium Ability to make independent architectural decisions Solid understanding of security best practices Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions Excellent English verbal and written skills German communication skills will be a plus What do we offer?
