Full Stack Engineer - Notey's World About Notey's World: Notey's World is an innovative music learning game that combines the engaging mechanics of Duolingo with the rhythm gameplay of Guitar Hero, enhanced with adventure and story elements inspired by Mario games. Under the hood, we have built an agentic AI that allows for anybody to learn any song by turning traditional sheet music and curriculum into a custom gamified world in seconds The Role: We're seeking an experienced Fullstack Developer to join our growing team in Malta. You'll work across our Python backend services (Firebase Cloud Functions, Firestore) and our React/TypeScript frontends, building the systems that power Notey's World — from webhooks and notification pipelines to internal tooling like our worldbuilder. You'll ship features end-to-end and help us integrate AI capabilities throughout the product. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement backend services and APIs in Python on Firebase Cloud Functions Build responsive, polished frontend interfaces in React and TypeScript Model and query data in Firestore and Google Cloud Storage Integrate AI capabilities using the Anthropic Claude and OpenAI SDKs Optimize application performance, reliability, and cost across the stack Collaborate with game designers, audio engineers, and product managers to bring features to life Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development practices Debug and troubleshoot issues across the full application stack Required Skills: Experience : 3+ years of professional software engineering experience Backend : Strong Python, including building services with Flask or a similar framework Frontend : Proficiency in React and TypeScript, with modern build tooling (Vite or equivalent) Cloud : Experience with Firebase and/or Google Cloud Platform Data : Familiarity with NoSQL document databases (Firestore or similar) AI : Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or equivalent) Problem Solving : Strong debugging and analytical skills, a curious mind Preferred Experience: experience working in startups Excels at working autonomously in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership from idea to execution Strong understanding of API design and integration Experience building consumer-facing products Experience playing an instrument and/or strong passion for music AI agentic development — building agents, tool use, orchestration, or LLM-driven workflows Familiarity with music transcription and music data formats (e.g., MIDI, MusicXML, etc.) is a nice plus What We Offer: Competitive salary based on experience Flexible work arrangements Opportunity to work on a cutting edge product that combines music, learning, and gaming Collaborative team environment that works both in Malta and internationally.
