IT Support Engineer- 1st/2nd Line

My Client In Manchester is looking for a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer. You’ll be hands-on with the day to day running and maintenance of systems, and the focal point for our users for whatever problems they may have. Working independently, you’ll be a skilled problem solver, troubleshooting a variety of technical challenges, assisting with cyber-security initiatives, and taking a positive, proactive approach to your work. The role will include: · Desktop maintenance (mostly Windows 10, with some Apple and Android devices) · Supporting the infrastructure team with software roll-outs and patches · Label and industrial Printer maintenance · Application/user support – Microsoft Office365 · In-house custom application support (training provided) · Active Directory User management · Help maintaining enterprise anti-virus solutions · Hardware and Software installation / fault finding · To create and update in-house documentation for the IT service desk Essential skills · Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role · Great communication skills (in person and via telephone) and written / spoken English · Personable, with the ability to build rapport with team members and other departments · Experience of Windows 10 administration · Hardware and software fault finding with thorough root cause analysis · Translate users’ problems into actionable requests and successful resolutions · Windows PC/laptop management via Active Directory · PC hardware installation and troubleshooting · Knowledge of enterprise level anti-virus solutions · Mobile device management including IOS and Android devices · Helpdesk ticketing systems (we use Jira Service Desk) Desired but non-essential skills · O365 administration · Utilization of GPOs · Administration of BT phone systems · Experience with PDQ Deploy/Inventory · DUO Authentication Proxy (or similar 2FA application) · Exposure to Forescout or other NAC systems · Cisco networking and Wi-Fi controllers · BeyondTrust user administration ·
