Junior CSS Developer
Listed as a remote role based in Naples, Campania, Italy.
Mosaic Conseil is a boutique remote consultancy where we rebuild business artifacts from the ground up. Whether we are looking at a three year plan, a pricing grid, or a diligence file, we take things apart on the bench and put them back together against the evidence of the invoice ledger. Our partner manages logistics and digital systems, and as we support their technical growth, we need a Junior CSS Developer to help us refine the visual structure of their digital tools. This is a full time, permanent position that is carried out entirely in a remote environment. About Mosaic Conseil We operate as a small, focused workshop. We avoid the overhead of large agencies and instead focus on rebuilding the files that businesses actually use to make decisions. Our work is personal and specific. Every file we produce carries two names on the cover: one person who builds the work and one person who argues against what was built. This ensures that every assumption is tested before a file closes. We do not work on standing retainers and we do not produce slide decks. Instead, we return redrawn artifacts supported by written arguments. We keep the workshop small on purpose so that the people who do the work are the same people who answer the telephone. We focus on four specific rooms: financial services, industrial networks, growing software companies, and healthcare systems. By staying small and remote, we remain independent and focused on the evidence found at the floor of the business. What you would do In this role, you will focus on the presentation layer of digital artifacts. You will work closely with our lead builders to ensure that financial models and logistics dashboards are clear and legible. Your daily work involves writing clean, maintainable CSS to organize information in a way that respects the data it represents. You will be responsible for the following: Developing and maintaining the style architecture for internal tools and client artifacts. Translating layout requirements into well structured HTML and CSS. Participating in the builder and challenger process by reviewing the code and layout logic of your peers. Auditing existing digital interfaces to identify areas where the visual structure can be simplified. Ensuring that all styling is consistent across different screen sizes and devices. Collaborating on written arguments to explain why a specific layout or style choice was made. Maintaining a library of consistent UI components that support our focus on logistics and digital systems. Helpful background We are looking for someone who sees CSS as a tool for clarity and organization. Since this is an entry level role, we prioritize a strong grasp of the basics and a willingness to learn our specific workshop methods. We find the following background helpful: Basic familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3, including an understanding of how the box model works. Comfort with CSS layout techniques like Flexbox and Grid. A curiosity about how logistics data is structured and presented to users. Clear written communication skills, as we rely heavily on text to explain our work. Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git. An eye for detail, specifically regarding spacing, typography, and alignment. The ability to work independently within a fully remote environment. A logical approach to solving layout problems without relying on heavy frameworks. How we work We believe in deep work. This means we do not have meetings that were not scheduled well in advance and we do not use corporate messaging tools for constant interruptions. Our process is rooted in the builder and challenger model. When you build a piece of style code, someone else will review it specifically to find weaknesses or errors. When you act as the challenger, your job is to ensure the work is resilient. We handle our work on paper and via telephone, with a commitment to answer for ninety days after a project closes. This remote structure allows us to focus entirely on the quality of the technical artifact rather than the theater of a traditional office. What the role offers This position provides an opportunity to do meaningful technical work in a quiet, focused setting. Because we are a small firm, you will see the direct impact of your code on the files we deliver to our partners. The role is fully remote, offering you significant autonomy over your daily environment. We provide a professional setting where intellectual honesty is valued above all else. The position is paid, and the compensation is competitive for the market and the level of responsibility. You will have the chance to learn a rigorous approach to digital architecture while working on complex systems for partners in the logistics and digital sectors. We value the discipline of writing and the clarity of a well built file. At Mosaic Conseil, we do not look for shortcuts. We look for the evidence at the floor of the business and we build from there. If you enjoy the challenge of making complex information easy to read and believe that code should be as clean as the logic it supports, you will find this workshop to be a productive place to start your career.
