Lead Electrical Engineer - 765kV EHV Substation Design
The Opportunity In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Function as a technical specialist or in a lead substation design role encompassing EHV transmission level voltage class. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. Provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on substation design projects. May responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output. Will lead other engineers and interface directly with clients. Be responsible for the overall execution and quality of substation projects as a leader within a team environment. Client provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction new asset and operating asset services in the following areas: Substations Overhead Transmission Lines Underground Transmission Lines Renewables Integration HVDC/FACTs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Power/Power Systems experience preferred Quality Assurance and Quality Control of EHV substation design projects EHV Substation design experience (physical & P&C) Technical experience preferred Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Prepare one-lines, connection diagrams, panel elevations and protection & control schematics for power substation equipment. Prepare auxiliary power equipment sizing calculations. Design wiring diagrams for protective relaying panels. Perform complex engineering
