ABOUT THE ROLE As a Product Designer at Numeral, you are accountable for outcomes, not artifacts. You work with PMs, engineers, and other designers to define the right problems in a domain most people find intimidating — sales tax, VAT, GST, filings, registrations — and ship product experiences that change how finance and accounting teams operate. Design at Numeral is AI-first and builder-led. Work starts in an LLM, moves into tools like Claude Code and Cursor to explore flows and interactions, and then comes into Figma for systems and polish. Designers prototype early, test with real customers, and stay involved through launch and adoption — not handoff. We're looking for designers who are excited to work this way and who want to use AI as a core part of how they design. Tax is a systems-heavy, high-stakes domain. The best designers here translate genuine complexity into experiences that feel obvious. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own product work end to end. Partner with PM and engineering to define problems, explore solution spaces, validate concepts, and ship improvements that move key metrics — activation, time-to-first-filing, registration completion, customer-reported confidence. Stay involved through launch and iteration. - Start in an LLM. Use Claude to clarify intent on ambiguous tax workflows, draft short PRDs, and surface edge cases (nexus thresholds, marketplace facilitator rules, exemption certificates, retroactive registrations).
