Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on backend architecture, data integrations, and production-ready application development. In this role, you will play a key part in transforming AI-generated prototypes and business workflows into reliable, production-ready applications using our engineering stack. While this is primarily a backend role, you should be comfortable making basic changes to the React/TypeScript frontend when needed to support end-to-end product development. Responsibilities: Build and maintain backend applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot, making basic changes to the React/TypeScript frontend when needed. Convert existing AI-generated and vibe-coded MVPs into reliable, production-ready applications. Refactor prototype logic into clean backend services, typed APIs, database schemas, and maintainable end-to-end workflows. Design PostgreSQL schemas and manage database migrations with Liquibase. Integrate BigQuery as a read source and maintain adjusted/published data views with clear source-of-truth boundaries. Follow OpenAPI-first development practices to build well-defined APIs and generate typed frontend API clients. Implement backend observability using Spring Boot Actuator, Prometheus metrics, and structured logging. Ensure applications are deployable, maintainable, and ready for engineering handoff. Work with business stakeholders to preserve product intent while improving technical quality.
