Senior Data Scientist

Main Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end data science projects for the G&O / Vegoil tanker desk, with key responsibility for palm production analytics, weather modelling, palm flows and tanker analytics. Partner with traders, researchers, IT, data engineering, and leadership to define project objectives, timelines, resources, dependencies, and success measures. Collect, clean, organize, and analyze large and complex datasets to assess drivers of supply, demand, flows, and prices, supporting sound and timely trading decisions. Design and build scalable databases, dashboards, reports, alerts, and analytical products within the research data environment. Lead initiatives from ideation through business adoption, proactively managing dependencies, securing stakeholder commitment and resources, and escalating blockers when needed. Translate complex analytical outputs into clear business insights, recommendations, and decision-support tools for trading and research stakeholders. Collaborate with data scientists across platforms to transfer methods, standards, and reusable analytical frameworks. Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, promote best practices, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing data science culture. Propose innovative ideas, evaluate new technologies and analytical methods, and maintain awareness of market and technology developments.
