Role Overview We are looking for experienced Senior DBA support following the departure of their internal DBA. The role provides hands-on administration for a mixed estate of legacy and modern databases spanning Oracle and SQL Server, running across a hybrid environment - cloud (primarily Azure) and on-premise. The estate grew through acquisitions, so it is fragmented, has little existing documentation, and currently lacks modern tooling and monitoring. The right person can investigate an unfamiliar environment and get to grips with it quickly. Key Responsibilities Onboarding / discovery - investigate the current state of the systems and databases to understand what is there; begin building a knowledge base. Routine BAU - regular health checks and proactive monitoring. Reactive troubleshooting - resolving performance issues and debugging problems across the different database platforms. Major incident support - handling high-severity incidents, potentially out-of-hours via on-call / standby arrangements. Knowledge capture - documenting the environment to ensur
