A day in the life As a Senior Database Specialist, you'll help keep the platforms behind PEXA running securely, reliably and at scale. You'll work closely with engineers, cloud specialists and platform teams to build and support database environments that power critical products used every day. No two days are the same. You might start by investigating database performance, tuning queries and resolving issues before they impact customers. Later, you'll collaborate with engineers on a new application design, automate operational tasks with scripting, or improve deployment processes to make releases smoother and more reliable. You'll also: Design and maintain secure, scalable cloud database solutions Monitor database health, performance and availability, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement Build and enhance backup, disaster recovery and high availability capabilities Work with engineering teams to design efficient database structures and support application delivery Automate repetitive tasks using SQL, Python, Shell scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code Support database deployments, schema changes and CI/CD pipelines Strengthen database security through access controls, encryption, auditing and compliance practices Share your knowledge with teammates and c
