Senior Electrical Designer

Fyfe work with a wide range of clients in the Energy & Resources and Property & Infrastructure sectors to provide high quality, commercially pragmatic solutions with a strong focus on client service and delivery. About the role Our Energy and Resources Division works with major energy developers to deliver large-scale Wind, Solar, BESS and HV substation projects across the country. These include greenfield developments for new energy infrastructure and brownfield projects involving the expansion, upgrade and augmentation of existing facilities. There is an opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects and technical disciplines. In the renewable energy sector, typical projects include Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) for large wind farms, solar farms and BESS developments, including HV substation primary design, earthing design, protection and control interfaces, cable reticulation, grid connection infrastructure and utility coordination. The role will also involve the design and delivery of HV infrastructure including transmission and distribution substations, switchyards, underground and overhead HV reticulation systems, and associated studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, insulation coordination and earthing assessments in accordance with relevant Australian and international standards detailed further below. Skills & experience We are looking for an experienced qualified Senior Electrical Designer with 8+ years' experience within a design consultancy working in the renewable energy, onshore gas, or power industries. Prepare detailed electrical design documentation for HV substation and utility infrastructure projects. Develop primary design deliverables including general arrangements, equipment layouts, cable routing, earthing layouts, conduit layouts, and associated detailed design drawings.
