Senior Engineer, Process Engineering (Defectivity)
Step into a career with ASM, where cutting edge technology meets collaborative culture. For over 55 years ASM has been ahead of what’s next, at the forefront of innovation and what’s technologically possible. With more than 4,500 ASMers representing 70 nationalities, our people and our advanced semiconductor devices are playing a crucial role in trends such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving. But we’re more than just a tech company. We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world. Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential. Job's mission As a Senior Process Engineer, Defectivity, you will play a key role in advancing semiconductor manufacturing technologies by driving defectivity reduction and process improvement initiatives across front-end wafer processing equipment. You will leverage your expertise in process engineering, contamination control, defect characterization, and data-driven problem solving to identify defect sources, improve equipment and process performance, and enhance product quality. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help develop innovative solutions that improve manufacturing reliability and enable the next generation of semiconductor devices. What you will be working on Lead investigations into defectivity issues affecting front-end wafer processing equipment and manufacturing processes. Identify and resolve equipment-induced, process-induced, handling-induced, and material-induced defect mechanisms. Analyze defect signatures using defect maps, spatial distributions, wafer trends, process data, and manufacturing performance metrics. Apply structured problem-solving methodologies including DOE, statistical analysis, failure analysis, and root-cause investigation techniques. Drive corrective and preventive actions and validate long-term effectiveness through data-driven
