Role Description The Senior Frontend Developer role at Webito is a remote contract position focused on building and improving user-facing features for our commerce platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing performant and responsive interfaces, collaborating with designers and product managers to translate requirements into high-quality code, and integrating frontend components with backend services. The role also involves optimizing web applications for speed and scalability, maintaining clean and reusable codebases, participating in code reviews, and contributing to frontend architecture decisions. The contractor will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions that enhance the merchant and shopper experience. Qualifications Strong Front-End Development skills, including modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and component-based architecture. Solid experience with Responsive Web Design and cross-browser compatibility, ensuring accessible and mobile-friendly user interfaces. Proficiency in Web Development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and integration with REST or GraphQL APIs. Understanding of Back-End Web Development concepts and workflows to effectively collaborate with backend engineers. Demonstrated Software Development best practices, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, and documentation. Experience working on large-scale or high-traffic web applications, ideally in e-commerce or SaaS environments. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with distributed teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. Familiarity with performance optimization, security considerations, and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
