Senior Kafka Engineer ON SITE CDMX

Important IT company At the Latin American level, growth requires: Senior Kafka Engineer We are looking for a Senior Kafka Engineer with experience in Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform to design and implement event-driven integration solutions, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance messaging platforms. Responsibilities; Design and implement solutions using Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform. Develop Kafka producers and consumers using Java and Spring Kafka. Define topics, partitions, keys, retention policies, and consumer strategies. Implement Schema Registry and event serialization using Avro, Protobuf, or JSON Schema. Design solutions using messaging patterns such as At-Least-Once, Exactly-Once, Idempotency, Retries, and Dead Letter Queues (DLQ). Implement Kafka Connect integrations. Monitor and optimize consumer lag, throughput, and event traceability. Collaborate with Architecture, Development, and Data teams to establish Kafka best practices. Required Qualifications; 3+ years of experience working with Apache Kafka. Hands-on experience with Confluent Platform. Strong Java and Spring Kafka experience. Experience with Schema Registry. Experience with Avro, Protobuf, or JSON Schema. Experience with Kafka Connect. Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices. Understanding of Kafka concepts including topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, and delivery semantics. Experience with Git/Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence. Nice to Have: Experience with Kafka Streams. Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker. Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana. Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Key Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to design scalable solutions. Strong technical communication skills.
