ABOUT THE ROLE Engineering at Airtasker is agentic: we work spec-first, directing autonomous systems that author code and curating the context that makes them effective. We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer who already builds this way and who knows native mobile inside out: someone who can take a fascinating architectural problem, decompose it into agent-executable work, and ship it to production standards across iOS and Android. This isn't a role where AI experience is "a plus". Working this way is the job. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Deliver mobile features through spec-driven, agentic workflows: write clear specs and acceptance criteria, then direct and verify agent-led implementation to production standards. Design agent workflows that solve recurring team problems, defining boundaries, escalation points and where humans stay in the loop. Curate the context that makes agents effective: repo maps, architecture summaries, decision logs and reusable task templates. Own delivery end-to-end: clarify requirements, do the technical research, engage stakeholders and clear blockages. Ship and maintain production apps across the full release cycle: store submission, phased rollout, and crash monitoring. Partner with Product, Data and Design to deliver core mobile roadmap initiatives.
