About the Role As a Senior Software Development Manager at Wellfit, you will provide operational and people leadership across the software development organization. This role is responsible for driving engineering execution, contractor oversight, resource planning, delivery readiness, and team effectiveness while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Support. This position will work closely with the Director of Development to ensure engineering teams are appropriately staffed, work is effectively prioritized, resources are fully utilized, and delivery commitments are achieved. The role owns people leadership, engineering operations, contractor governance, resource planning, and delivery execution. Technical direction, architecture decisions, and design authority remain with Architecture and the Principal/Senior Engineers. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering leadership with a passion for building high-performing teams, improving operational excellence, and driving accountability across multiple development teams and vendor partners. Responsibilities: • Oversee contractor resources, vendor relationships, contractor quality, utilization, onboarding, and offboarding activities. • Manage engineering capacity, workload balancing, and resource allocation across development teams. • Lead, coach, and develop software engineers across multiple product teams. • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide performance feedback, and support employee growth and development. • Monitor team utilization and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and delivery effectiveness. • Partner with Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Support, and Scrum
