Senior Software Engineer - Python control software (f/m/d)

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future. We are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d)- Backend. Responsibilities: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the control software that powers our quantum computing systems. In this position, you will work closely with our international team of physicists and engineers to build robust, scalable, portable and maintainable control software. Depending on your level of experience, you will take on one or more of the following tasks: Design, develop, test, and deploy services that enable professional use of quantum computing Build APIs and data interfaces to integrate various hardware components of our quantum computing stack Ensure scalability and maintainability of backend systems, adhering to high software engineering standards Optimise data processing pipelines for performance and reliability. Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system robustness Identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities in backend systems Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software architecture with hardware requirements Document software designs and maintain high code quality through code reviews and best practices
