Who will you be working with? Bach-Simpson is the lead Event Recorder OEM in the North American Transit market. It designs, develops, and maintains various electronic equipment for trains. The monitoring team in this division is responsible for the Bach-Simpson monitoring products and projects. How will you make a difference? As a member of the software team in Bach-Simpson, you will report to the Software Manager. You will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of cloud computing websites which incorporate AI to deliver innovative and differentiated product capabilities. You will assist the Software Manager with certain operational activities including, but not limited to, sprint planning and backlog grooming, technical problem solving and design oversight, customer releases, and cybersecurity planning and compliance with internal policies. What do we want to know about you? The following are the qualifications required for this role: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field Minimum 5 years of professional experience with cloud computing platforms and systems engineering Integrating custom datasets with AI for analysis and reporting with hands-on experience building applications with Large Language Models and training custom models. Development on a variety of platforms, including Windows IoT and Linux, with strong proficiency in languages and frameworks such as C/C++ (x86/64, ARM, Motorola, Freescale), C#, and Python. Legacy Modernization: Proven experience migrating legacy architectures to modern cloud/web solutions. Cloud & Databases: Hands-on exposure to Azure and/or AWS cloud environments. Strong working knowledge of relational databases (MS-SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Entity Framework). Dev Tools: Familiarity with Git-based version control (GitLab, GitHub) and collaboration tools.
