Careers Software Engineer (Junior) – AI Systems Engineering Hybrid / Europe / Italy Full-time Location: Remote (EU - Italy) Experience: 0–2 years About Us Daidalos is a deep-tech startup developing a proprietary AI accelerator IP for next-generation embedded and edge systems. We are building a new hardware architecture for AI execution, focused on energy efficiency and real-world deployment. The role This is not “just software”. You will work on bringing AI models onto completely new hardware architectures, contributing to a system where software and hardware are tightly interconnected. We are looking for someone at the beginning of their career who is curious, motivated, and willing to go below standard abstraction layers. What you will work on Optimization and mapping of AI models (PyTorch / ONNX) onto custom architectures Development in C++ / C / Python with attention to performance Interaction with FPGA-based systems Understanding constraints such as memory, latency, and throughput Supporting hardware-software co-design activities Requirements Basic knowledge of C++ or Python Understanding of fundamental computer architecture concepts Interest in performance optimization and low-level systems Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment Nice to have Experience with PyTorch, ONNX, or similar frameworks Exposure to embedded systems or FPGA environments Familiarity with Linux-based development What we are looking for Strong curiosity and learning mindset Interest in going beyond high-level frameworks Ability to work in an evolving environment Ownership and motivation What we offer Full remote work Fast learning curve and exposure to real-world systems Direct collaboration with hardware and AI teams Opportunity to grow into a highly specialized role Apply Send your CV or GitHub profile via form Equal Opportunity Daidalos is an equal opportunity employer.
