Specialist - Electrical Engineering

Who will you be working with? Bach-Simpson is the lead Event Recorder OEM in the North American Transit market. It designs, develops, and maintains various electronic equipment for trains. The monitoring team in this division is responsible for the Bach-Simpson monitoring products and projects. How will you make a difference? As the Specialist – Electrical Engineering, you will report to the Manager, Product (Test Equipment) and work with a team of talented engineers and software developers responsible for designing, developing, and delivering our industry-leading transit electronics solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and customer support, to ensure our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to: Perform all aspects of technical work to meet RAILS, ISO9001, CMMI and Wabtec Policy requirements as our customers and corporate demand. Design, troubleshoot and maintain complex Software systems. Drive process improvements across engineering workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of key engineering systems. Assist in new concept design and early-stage product development Basics in circuit theory and PCB design principles Read and interpret PCB schematics. Review documents and procedures for accuracy Document process in a flow chart using Microsoft Visio Contribute to automation and tooling through coding and scripting (e.g., C, C++, Python, VBA) Knowledge of electronic and electrical systems design, programming and firmware development Test and validate engineering processes and systems to ensure accuracy and reliability Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
