This role owns system architecture and integration design across multiple internal and external systems, translates business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions, and provides technical mentorship to other engineers. What does a day in the life of a Senior Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)look like? Design and develop scalable backend applications and services using Python. Design system architectures that integrate multiple internal and third-party systems. Decompose complex business problems into well-defined services with clear ownership and boundaries. Design and build REST APIs and backend services. Design robust domain models, reusable components, and maintainable software abstractions. Build reliable data ingestion and transformation pipelines. Design integration patterns that ensure reliable communication between systems, including error handling, retries, and data consistency. Develop cloud-native applications using AWS services. Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions. Troubleshoot production issues across application and cloud infrastructure layers. Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews. Mentor engineers by promoting sound software design and engineering best practices. Collaborate closely with Product, Data, AI, and Engineering teams.
