This position plays a central role in guiding and supporting the community’s understanding of flood risk and floodplain regulations. In addition to assisting with reviews of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for public and private development, this role places a strong emphasis on managing the City’s Community Rating System (CRS) program, coordinating with residents, developers, and engineers, and serving as a knowledgeable resource on floodplain requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and apply floodplain regulations, explain requirements clearly to the public, and help ensure that new development does not increase flood risk to nearby properties or infrastructure. Beyond development review support, this position will lead CRS program implementation, community outreach, and interdepartmental coordination to support Fort Worth’s flood‑risk reduction goals.
