Staff Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE: Rightway is looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Staff Accountant to join our team. This role involves supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP, and contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Lead daily accounting operations including payables, customer billing, cash transactions, payroll processing, and responding to inquiries Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring compliance with applicable tax and labor regulations Assist in preparing financial statements and management reporting Contribute to audit preparations, both internal and external, by providing required documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives and projects Assist in preparation of sales and use tax filings/software (Avalara or Sovos) Ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to new and unique accounting requirements WHO YOU ARE: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required 2+ years of general accounting experience, with a proven track record of excelling and getting promoted Experience within a fast paced startup and/or the healthcare technol
