Job Responsibilities Take the lead on structural engineering assignments while working closely with a licensed engineer or project manager to meet project goals and deliverables. Help prepare and review structural analysis, design, and construction documents for new structures, upgrades, retrofits, and rehabilitation projects. Design and analyze bridges, foundations, retaining walls, and other structural systems using materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and prestressed elements, all in line with applicable codes and standards. Develop calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, estimates, and other project deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Review existing structures and recommend strengthening, modifications, or other design updates to support new loads or changing project needs. Share technical guidance with engineers and designers by reviewing work, offering mentorship, and supporting team growth. Contribute to successful project delivery by helping manage schedules, quality control, documentation, and client expectations.
