MetroStar is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a U.S. Air Force customer by administering, maintaining, and securing enterprise IT systems in a dynamic mission environment. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of an Air Force system hosted within an AWS Gov Cloud environment. The core system consists of Linux based servers. This role supports system modernization, strict cybersecurity compliance, and operational excellence. What you’ll do: Monitor the health, performance, and availability of AWS-hosted Linux and Windows servers, responding to alerts and troubleshooting issues before they impact operations. Perform routine system administration tasks, including patch management, software updates, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance activities. Harden servers and applications in accordance with DISA STIG requirements, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and maintaining secure system baselines. Review vulnerability scan results, develop remediation plans and POA&Ms (Plans of Action and Milestones), and coordinate corrective actions with technical teams. Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities by collecting compliance evidence, documenting security controls, and helping maintain authorization requirements.
