Why This Role Matters The Technical Director – Marine is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and governing all technical aspects of marine and near shore projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of complex marine works (ports and jetties, offshore structures, coastal protection). The role provides strategic direction, technical assurance, and operational support across the full project lifecycle—from concept and design to execution and commissioning. What You’ll Drive Technical Leadership & Strategy Define and implement the marine technical strategy aligned with business and project objectives. Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, constructability, and execution methods. Lead innovation, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support tendering teams with technical solutions, methodologies, and risk assessments. Resource & Team Leadership Set-up processes and tools (document management, review processes, transfers to operations) Forecast resources necessary to support the execution of a large project. Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams to execute the contracted works. Define capability requirements and support workforce planning. Mentor technical leaders and build organisational capability.
