The Test Technician — General Safety is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian, and other International product safety standards, writing reports, and communicating with clients. Responsibilities Perform product safety evaluations against standards such as UL 62368-1, UL 60730-1, IEC 61010-1, UL 508/UL 61800-5-1, UL 972, and related vertical/end-product standards. Complete construction, electrical, and mechanical safety testing, including dielectric withstand, ground continuity, abnormal operation, temperature rise, and mechanical strength/impact testing. Set up and operate standard test equipment; use hand tools to build and calibrate test fixtures; prepare test samples. Obtain and record test data in accordance with applicable standards; perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
