Traffic Signal Design Engineer (Urban64®) Location: Home Based in the UK with travel as required Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm Contract: Permanent, Full Time Overview SRL is the UK's leading provider of intelligent temporary traffic management solutions. The Traffic Signal Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration and technical support of SRL's Urban64® traffic signal systems, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operation across a wide range of temporary traffic management schemes. The role supports customers, operations teams and project managers by developing signal designs, programming Urban64 equipment and providing technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of temporary traffic signal installations. About the Role Key Responsibilities Design traffic signal schemes using the SRL Urban64® system. Develop signal staging, phasing and timing plans to suit site-specific traffic management requirements. Configure and programme Urban64 controllers and associated equipment. Produce technical drawings, signal layouts and supporting documentation. Assess customer requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions. Review site information, traffic management plans and risk assessments to develop compliant signal designs. Support Operations and Project Delivery teams during installation, commissioning and fault investigation. Assist with the testing and validation of Urban64 configurations prior to deployment. Liaise with customers, traffic management contractors and internal departments to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical guidance to field engineers and depot personnel. Maintain accurate design records, configuration files and project documentation. Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives relating to the Urban64 platform. Provide remote technical support for live installations when necessary. Contribute to the development of engineering standards, templates and best practice documen
