AI Compiler Engineer (Entry‑Level / New College Graduate)

As a AI Compiler Engineer on the Renesas HPC team, you will work on compiler and code‑generation technologies that enable AI workloads to run efficiently on next‑generation automotive System‑on‑Chip (SoC) platforms. You will contribute to software that translates AI models into optimized execution for advanced automotive hardware used in software‑defined vehicles (SDVs). This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about compilers, systems software, and AI acceleration, and who want hands‑on experience working at the intersection of software and hardware in a real‑world, safety‑critical domain. You will work closely with experienced compiler engineers, hardware architects, and AI specialists, learning how production‑grade AI compilers are built and optimized for automotive use cases. What You’ll Do Contribute to AI compiler development , including model ingestion, graph transformations, and code generation under the guidance of senior engineers Implement and test compiler optimizations such as operator fusion, scheduling improvements, and memory optimizations Assist in performance analysis and benchmarking of AI workloads on simulators and silicon platforms Work with senior team members to debug correctness and performance issues in compiler pipelines Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (SoC architecture, AI software, systems) to understand hardware constraints and software requirements Write clean, well‑tested code and documentation following engineering best practices Learn automotive software requirements such as determinism, reliability, and quality standards Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or graduating soon) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and computer architecture Solid programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python Coursework, projects, or internships related to compilers, systems programming, or machine learning Familiarity with at least one of the
