ABOUT THE ROLE: Aviatrix Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) delivers the intelligence, advanced network and security services of Aviatrix’s multi-cloud network platform as a managed offering. We are seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer TL/M - Software Development to join our PaaS team. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers while also contributing to technical execution — defining designs, driving key features, and writing code alongside your team. You will balance engineering leadership with individual technical contributions, owning both people management responsibilities and product components. This is a Tech Lead/Manager (TL/M) role built for a builder who wants to grow as a people leader without leaving the craft behind. Position Responsibilities: Define and drive next-generation designs for complex distributed systems using Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), contributing directly to code and architecture alongside your team. Own the end-to-end lifecycle (requirements, design, delivery, and operations) of key features of the PaaS product; break down large projects into executable sub-projects distributed across the team. Evaluate key engineering tradeoffs and make data-driven technical decisions that balance velocity, quality, and scalability. Write and present design proposals and technical documents that define complex problems and long-term solutions.
