ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Backend Engineer at Brandlight, you’ll be a core builder with a strong infrastructure mindset, responsible for designing and delivering backend systems that can support several billion data points collected daily, with high reliability and real-time visibility. This role is for someone who can own complex systems end-to-end, move fast, build from scratch, automate everything possible, and create production-grade infrastructure that scales. RESPONSIBILITIES - Build and own backend infrastructure handling billions of data points daily - Design scalable services with reliability, automation, and observability - Enable daily monitoring at scale with strong SLAs - Build parallel execution systems to cut processing and report times - Deliver real-time monitoring and alerting for system and data health - Reduce manual work through automation, tooling, and processes - Own delivery end-to-end: architecture → production → performance REQUIREMENTS - 7+ years building production systems at scale - 7+ years Python, writing clean, maintainable backend code - Built infrastructure from scratch, owning it end-to-end - Shipped backend products independently, from design to production - Experience with high-throughput data collection + monitoring systems - Automation-first mindset: reduces manual work with tools and processes. - Strong communicator and execution driver across teams - Curious, low-ego, autodidact, with proven leadership WHY JOIN US?
