Why This Role Matters The RNE (Registration, Numbers and Enablement) group within Vonage's Foundation Engineering department works across four core product domains: Registration, Numbers, Number Intelligence, and Know Your Customer (KYC). Our senior engineers play a key role in driving technical quality and platform evolution, working on a modern cloud-native stack across both greenfield and existing systems. What You Will Do Design and develop highly concurrent, distributed backend services with a focus on high availability; Take solid ownership of architectural contributions, driving technical decisions within and across teams; Lead performance optimisation efforts and proactively diagnose complex system issues; Design, develop and test new features, setting a high bar for quality and reliability; Support the release and documentation of developed features; Define and champion coding standards and development processes; Mentor and support more junior engineers within the team; Provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota. What You Will Bring Essential: Strong programming skills in Go (Golang) or deep experience with JVM technologies (Java/Spring Boot) and a strong desire to move to Go; Proven experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems at scale; Solid experience with highly concurrent, distributed architectures and systems; Solid experience contributing to and driving architectural decisions; Experience with containerised applications and cloud-native environments; Experience pr
