Why This Role Matters The RNE (Registration, Numbers and Enablement) group within Vonage's Foundation Engineering department works across four core product domains: Registration, Numbers, Number Intelligence, and Know Your Customer (KYC). As a Staff Engineer, you will be a technical anchor for the team, shaping the architecture of our cloud-native platform and influencing engineering culture across the group. What You Will Do Provide technical leadership and vision for the design and development of highly concurrent, distributed backend systems; Drive and own significant architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability and maintainability across the platform; Lead performance optimisation initiatives and resolve the most complex system-level challenges; Set the standard for testing practices, including Unit, Integration and Smoke tests, enabling fully automated promotion of code to production; Define, evolve and enforce coding standards and engineering best practices across the team; Act as a technical mentor and leader, supporting the growth of engineers at all levels; Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business goals; Provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota.
