Software Engineer - AI Start Up

Listed as a remote role based in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. Python Software Engineer Dublin | Office-based | Up to €80,000 plus equity I'm working with a well-backed, early-stage AI start-up in Dublin that is building production technology for the healthcare sector. The product is already live with customers and handles complex communication, scheduling and operational workflows. As the business grows, they are now looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join their small engineering team. This is a hands-on product engineering role, with Python at the centre of the technology. You will work closely with the CTO and founding team, taking ideas from an initial customer problem through to production. What you will be doing Designing and building backend services using Python Developing APIs and integrations with third-party platforms Building and improving AI-powered workflows Working on real-time communication and automation systems Owning features from initial design through to release and iteration Improving the reliability, performance and observability of the platform Working directly with the founding team to solve customer problems Helping establish strong engineering practices as the team grows What they are looking for Around 3 to 5 years of commercial software engineering experience Strong professional experience with Python Previous experience working in a start-up or fast-growing scale-up Experience building backend systems, APIs or integration-heavy products A track record of shipping software into production Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can move quickly Able to work through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect specification Strong ownership and good product judgement A practical approach to balancing speed, quality and complexity Clear communication and a collaborative mindset Experience with AI agents, LLMs, voice technology, workflow automation or healthtech would be useful, but it is not essential.
