We won’t deny that the work is often challenging – our clients ask us to solve some very difficult problems that don't often have straightforward answers – but you’ll be rewarded with an environment in which to learn, experiment and grow towards your own individual goals. We value a collaborative and team-based approach to problem solving and encourage contribution to solutions from team members at all levels. Job Description: Marketscience is looking for a motivated Software Developer with a passion for software architecture and robust engineering practices. In this role, you will help maintain and enhance the foundational software that powers our advanced econometric modeling and business intelligence tools. You will work directly with our senior development team to implement scalable solutions, focusing on clean code and modern desktop architecture. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to bridge the gap between high-level architectural theory and real-world commercial application. Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with Senior Developers to design and implement software features that support our econometric modeling software and data processing pipelines. Write Clean, Testable Code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure the reliability of business-critical analytical tools. Apply Architectural Principles (such as SOLID, DRY, and KISS) to existing and new codebases to improve maintainability and scalability. Maintain Windows Desktop Interfaces by debugging and adding features to our existing C# and WPF applications to support the evolving needs of our consulting teams. Support Polyglot Environments by working across both C# and Python, ensuring seamless integration between frontend interfaces and backend statistical engines. Take Ownership of Tasks by adopting a self-driven approach to problem-solving, moving projects forward while proactively seeking guidance from senior mentors. Desired Skills and Experience: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Core Programming: Proficiency in Python is required; a strong interest or experience in C# is highly valued. Candidates must be willing to work across both languages. Architecture & Best Practices: Deep understanding of SOLID principles , Test-Driven Development (TDD) , and general "Clean Code" methodologies. Frontend/Desktop: Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) for debugging and feature adjustments. Familiarity with the MVVM pattern is a plus. Tools: Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and the software development lifecycle. Soft Skills: Self-starter mindset with the ability to take responsibility for project components and a desire to grow into a more senior role through hands-on experience. Collaborative Spirit: A great work ethic and the desire to "do what it takes" to learn from seniors and provide value to our global clients. Inclusion at Marketscience At Marketscience, we are committed to cultivating a culture of inclusion and connectedness.
